I have known Pam for over 30 years, and I have so many memories of good times spent together. Andy and Pam, Nathan and Adam have always been part of our family life and we are all going to miss Pam dreadfully.
It all started back in the 1990s. My late husband Ron took his first job from Uni at the Sports Council for Wales and met Andy through Welsh Badminton. They got along well, and I remember an invite over to Farmhouse Mews for a meal. (We might have even had sausage casserole, but if not then, I am happy to say I have enjoyed Pam’s Casserole as others have talked about on here). Andy and Pam had been married a year or so and Ron and I about the same. That was the start of a long and lovely friendship.
I remember Andy and Pam coming over one evening to tell us the news that Pam was expecting. I will always remember the excitement and anticipation of the intending new arrival. Pam was an amazing mum, and she loved Nathan and Adam “the boys” dearly and was so proud of all they achieved and all they have become. As my three children came along Pam was always around to help. We had some chaotic teas together, feeding the youngsters and catching up on our lives. Every birthday and Christmas there was a thoughtful card and gift from Andy and Pam, Nathan and Adam.
We had some great holidays as the kids grew up. A trip to France, and also Centreparcs. Really happy memories for all our children, and good times for us all.
Pam and I also worked together for a while, in the NHS. It was so lovely to see a friendly face in the working week. Pam was professional and efficient, great at her job, but always made time for a quick gossip and catch up when our paths crossed in meetings.
The last few years have involved meals out with Andy and Pam, and catch ups with coffee at different venues across Wrexham. Finding new spots to try and making sure we had plenty of time to catch up on all our news. Retirement for Pam meant at last we had time to do things at our pace. Pam has been such a lovely friend to me since Ron’s passing four years ago. Regular texts through covid and checking up on us all.
Pam was so looking forward to the move closer to the boys down south, and I am only sorry that she did not have more time to enjoy her new surroundings.
I really am going to miss Pam, her friendship, her kindness, and her good advice. Such a positive wonderful person, and world will be a sadder place without her.
